A closer look at Gemini and Cancer

Greetings Stargazers! Alissandra Coffey here.

Today I'm continuing on with revealing more about Gemini and our birthday sign, Cancer.

I had noticed that two more people have been checking out my posts! As exciting as it is, please feel free to comment on what you would like to see or know more about, when it comes to Astrology. Or feel free to leave input on how I'm doing.

So without further ado, let's preservere on with the twins in the sky.

Gemini (June 20-July 21):

The best way to know our plucky twins is through a little Greco/Roman mythological story.*  Zeus, our usual central god, had granted an assignment to two twins by the names of Castor and Pollux. One twin was to stay on Mount Olympus and the other had to descend to the earth below.
The catch of the Castor and Pollux's stay was that they couldn't get used to their surroundings. Once one twin was settled on Mount Olympus that was where that twin had to descend down to the earth while the other twin went to Mount Olympus and vise versa. So was their fate for the rest of eternity.

Goodness could you imagine having to switch between two living places in a short amount of time?

Gemini can, at least with their thoughts, feelings and moods. As with Castor and Pollux, one day these individuals may be in a wonderful mood and are making friends rapidly and talking a mile a minute. The next moment, they're deathly silent, telling all their acquaintances to leave them alone as they brood.

What happened?

Like Castor and Pollux, someone who was once on Mount Olympus had to descend to the earth and the move was a harsh one. Whether the Gemini personality faces a change in life that was unexpected, a harsh reality that they weren't prepared for or just a shift of mood that they don't even know as to why it's occurring, this is just how the Gemini's  dualistic personality sets in.

But don't let the aforementioned cause for you to avoid these very spry individuals.

As with their house--the third house, which is of thought and communication--the Gemini personality loves to learn about new things and share with all of their friends, relatives and cohorts. In a way, the Gemini personality is like the newscaster that you watch in the evening--Breaking News: GMO's are taking over the planet. Did you know? More babies are born on the full moon. This just in: I just went on the scariest roller coaster ever and lived to tell you all about it.

A friend to a Gemini personality never grows bored of this person's company, because they have so many interesting things to share and interesting places to go to.

And if you think that Gemini specializes in one particular subject matter, think again. Because Gemini would like to know everything and everyone, they tend to learn one subject matter, only to cut to other subject matters in a matter of minutes. Like the butterfly, they land on a particular flower only to fly to another in a short time.

Their ruling planet, Mercury, is the responsible party, when it comes to the fast paced mind of Gemini. Like gifted and talented students, they need to stay occupied or else boredom sets in. And, believe me, there's nothing like having a dualistic person, complain when they are bored.

Cancer (June 20-July 22):

To look at these sensitive and intuitive souls, we need to take a look at Cancer's ruling planet, the Moon.

When the Moon is full, it's there for everyone to see and to illuminate the whole of the night's sky. To provide light, in order to guide those who are lost, to provide beauty for artists, to guide the tide tables to rise and to give aid to new mothers, when it comes to giving birth.

In a way, the metaphor of the full moon also describes Cancer's tendency to be the mother sign of the zodiac. They can be helpful, nurturing and can lend a sympathetic ear when someone has doubts, worries or is experiencing bad day. In many ways, they like to be the person who is "there" for someone, guiding everyone to their best paths.

Now when the Moon is waning until there is complete darkness in the sky, is another metaphor of Cancer's shy and mysterious side. They're the type of personalities who know a lot of things about everyone around them but rarely everyone knows who they are.

One reason--when someone asks a Cancerian personality to tell them a little more about themselves, they usually don't know how to answer such a question. After all, like a mother, they are so busy trying to aid others, that they don't know where to begin when it comes to themselves.

Another attribute that Cancerian personalities find themselves within is that they spend so much time giving to other people, that they become resentful of other people not being considerate enough to give back.

One bit of advice is for the Cancerian personality to take a bit of "me" time, every now and then. While the venture to aid others can be admirable, we all need a little break from others from time to time. Also, the other signs have a myriad of ways to express gratitude. It might be in a form that is least expected.

Well Stargazers, this wraps up another interestingly filled time up in the stars. Next time, dear Lions and Virgins (again, I really hope that didn't sound bad) the limelight will be yours. We'll cover Leo and Virgo.

Until then, keep journeying up in the sky!
